Her side of 'Sticky Fingers'. Madonna always knew what she wanted and how to get it - critics were not as friendly all the time regarding this particular album but among her attempts it is a milestone. A fusion of electro-pop and sad ballads works fine, with some 'avantgarde' handgrenades chucked in just for the flavour - take 'Act of Contrition',the closing 'demonic' piece which could have been easily mistaken for any but Madonna's efforts... The title song, a massive deserved hit, somewhat weaker 'Express yourself', impressive duet with Prince on 'Love Song', electro-pop almost as Depeche as it is not - 'Til Death Do Us Part', in memoriam sentiments of 'Promise To Try' and 'Oh Father', beautifully childish 'Dear Jessie', lamental 'Spanish Eyes', funky 'Keep It Together' and irresistable bouncer 'Cherish'. This is one of her best albums - truly eclectic and mature. Crijevo - 08-Nov-06
