Nat was briefly a member of early 80's Brit-funk band Light Of The World.
This single is a catchy up-tempo slice of pop-funk which was produced by Dexter Wansel.He had been a major player at the legendary Philadelphia International label in the 1970's, and this single was cut in Philadelphia, although it is nothing like the classic 70's Philly sound; no strings or any of that lush production that made that label's name.
The use of electronic instruments in soul during the 80's irrevocably changed the music for good, leading to the rise of hip-hop soul, but that's another story altogether... Review by simononline Apr 2009 |
